    GREGG BRUNCLIK

    PRESIDENT/CEO

    GREGG BRUNCLIK

Gregg Brunclik is the President and CEO of Clearwing, one of North America’s premier production services companies.

Equipped with a love for music and a penchant for building things, Gregg co-founded Clearwing in the mid-1970s. Under the namesake Clearwing Audio, the company provided audio solutions for venues and festivals in the Milwaukee area using speakers and road cases Gregg built in his dad’s basement.

By time he incorporated the company in the mid-1980s, Gregg had over 15 years of experience working FOH sound, mixing audio for acts such as Blackfoot, Eddie Rabbitt, The Police, and Def Leppard. During these years, Gregg learned exactly what bands and management were looking for from a vendor. After spending some time on the road touring the US, he returned home to Milwaukee to build upon Clearwing’s growing reputation.

Gregg catapulted Clearwing’s business after entering into an agreement with a Phoenix production company to trade gear during their respective off seasons. When the Arizona company later dissolved, Gregg made the strategic choice to open a second Clearwing office ihere to fill the production solutions gap in the Phoenix market.

Today, the company operates out of three offices; Milwaukee, Phoenix and Denver, and has expanded to include lighting and video production support as well as Systems Integration and logistics subsidiaries, and a wholesale/retail Pro Shop. Under Gregg’s leadership, the company has gone from a small, local business to a successful corporation tackling some of the largest events in the US including Summerfest, the MLB All-Star Games, and Super Bowl tailgate parties.

Near the end of my shift, I was stocking the coolers and I looked up to see a man dressed in a trench coat round the corner. “Hey Tracy, I’m Danny, Tammy and Jones’s friend from Chicago. They are still getting ready and sent me to pick you up.” I let him know I would be ready in a few minutes and would meet him outside. Once outside, I see he’s waiting for me just outside the doors. I start heading to the car and all of a sudden he says, “Wait a minute! I forgot something!” I look back at him and he says, “Tammy and Jones wanted me to show you this!!” and he flashes me!!! I was shocked and embarrassed and my friends who had been in the car hiding were no longer hiding but dying of laughter.

What is the most memorable place you’ve traveled?
I had to travel to Taipei, Taiwan for a work related trip. I missed my connecting flight on the way there and my luggage ended up on a different flight than I did so when I arrived I had no luggage.  I had to try to explain to the customer service person (who did not speak English) that I did not get my luggage.  He pulled out a pamphlet with about 100 different styles of luggage for me to pick the one that was closest to mine.  After traveling for nearly 14 hours, it was not the easiest thing to remember what it looked.  I thought for sure I would never see my luggage again.  By some miracle it showed up two days later it in my hotel room.  Also while on this trip I experienced my first earthquake, luckily it was only a minor one!
