The Lighting Technician is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining entertainment lighting equipment. The ideal candidate is an experienced tech with excellent interpersonal skills and will provide professional customer service both in-house and on job sites that upholds to Clearwing standards. This person will report to the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Experience working in a dynamic, high-energy environment with a demanding workload
  • Strong organizational and adaptability skills while collaborating with others
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once, and operate in line with proven systems
  • Assist with advancing productions, prepping equipment and assist with show pull
  • Keep salesperson and Operations/Logistics notified of changes that affect pricing
  • Help with project management of shows as directed by Operations and Logistics
  • Proficient with the set-up, programming, operation, and troubleshooting of VL, Martin, Clay Paky, Robe, Elation, Chauvet, ETC, Grand MA, ChamSys systems
  • Experienced with calling a conventional lighting focus
  • Experience with basic rigging techniques
  • Must be able to solve problems as and when they may arise
  • Positive attitude and the ability to remain effective under pressure
  • Prior experience in providing direction to a crew, both in-house and on show site
  • Assist Warehouse Manager in the creation of proper testing and maintenance procedures on equipment
  • Stay up-to-date on industry products and standards

Skill/Experience Requirements

  • Four (4) years experience in entertainment lighting production
  • Related touring experience of 2 or more years preferred
  • Passport for international travel preferred
  • Working knowledge of lighting equipment in Clearwing inventory
  • Experience working with and supervising a local crew under IATSE union regulations preferred

Physical Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Climb heights of up to 50’
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to operate a forklift or other heavy equipment
