L-Acoustics ARCS II

The ARCS® II is the full-range element of a constant curvature WST® (Wavefront Sculpture Technology) line source. The ARCS II loudspeaker enclosure is centered on a two-way active design with a minimal impedance of 8 ohms for both the HF and the LF section. It contains a 15” neodymium speaker in a bass-reflex tued enclosure and a 3” neodymium diaphragm compression driver coupled to a DOSC® waveguide. To safeguard the utmost acoustical and mechanical integrity, the cabinet is built with first grade Baltic birch plywood. The ARCS II operates over the nominal frequency range of 50Hz to 20kHz. With the SB28 subwoofer, this response can be brought down to 25Hz. The DOSC HF waveguide produces a 22.5 degree symmetric x 60 degree asymmetric directivity pattern. These values relate to the horizontal x vertical coverage angles for an ARCS II enclosure that stands vertically. The ARCS II rigging system makes it possible to assemble horizontal or vertical arrays with constant curvature. The DOSC waveguide in the HF region secures a flawless acoustic pairing between the elements of an array. The WST criteria are satisfied so that the array qualifies as a true line source. Any WST Line source delivers a smooth tonal response and coverage that is without secondary lobes over the entire frequency range. The ARCS II is powered and amplified by the LA4X or the LA8 controller with a single factory preset to confirm system linearization, protection, and optimization for the loudspeaker system.
